Curriculum vitae
After graduating high school at Wuppertal she finished an education as pharmaceutical- technical assistant at Solingen. Dr. Gather worked in this profession till she started to study veterinary medicines at Hannover. Also, she completed several internships in Germany and the USA. During her studies she worked as auction rider at Verden.
After graduating veterinary medicines she wrote her thesis for the department of Andrology at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (supervised by Prof. Klug). Because of this scientific study she worked at the state stud farm of Celle at the inseminations centre. This enabled Dr. Gather to specialise in gynaecology and intensive foal care.
Dr. Gather worked two years as a veterinarian in a practice with 80% horses. During this time she competed in equine sports, both jumping and dressage.
Dr. Gather has been part of our team, since the founding of the equine clinic Burg Mueggenhausen in1997. In 2000 she graduated as equine specialist (“Fachtierarzt für Pferde”). She supported, amongst others, as the national team veterinarian for German dressage equip at the European- and world championships.
Since January 2006 Dr. Gather works in the equine clinic Burg Mueggenhausen GmbH and is together with Dr. Weinberger in charge for the veterinary guidance of the clinic.
She is advisor and sensor for the German Jockey Club and the equine education centre at Cologne.
