Radiographic examination

Radiographs enable the veterinarian to interpret the clinical findings in more detail and give an overview of the bone structures. This information is of great value for the veterinarian, unfortunately a good radiograph cannot guarantee the future performance capacity of the horse. Additionally we have to emphasize that we can only examine the radiographed locations.

This goes also for the number of shots taken from e.g. one joint. When only a overview radiograph has been taken from a joint, it is obvious that the veterinarian has less information than when several shots are taken from different angles. Nevertheless one radiograph says more about the condition of the joint than no radiograph at all. In our clinic we work with a high- tech digital X- ray machine to get the best possible images.
