Nuclear scintigraphy
Scintigraphy is a diagnosis technique which visualises changes in metabolic activity e.g. inflammations in both soft, - and hard tissues. The areas with abnormal metabolic activities are highlighted by the radioactive marker fluid which is injected into the horse. The scintigraphy technique, also known as bone scan, can reflect problems which are not visible on radiographs; another advantage is that it can highlight multiple problem areas.
